The DuGyte All-in-One Cable

If you find that you end up with a lot of cable clutter on stage, then the DuGyte pedal snake from Maytech Music Systems may be just what you’re looking for. It essentially combines all signal and power cables into a single all-in-one cable. According to Maytech, this approach offers the industries fastest setup and tear-down solution, resulting in the DuGyte being the perfect companion for any professional or semi-professional gigging musician.

Dugyte 721 with Cable

The DuGyte boasts high quality premium signal and power connections for optimum line impedance, high quality signal quality and noise-free operation. The built-in power also eliminates any “wall warts” that may occur. In addition to that, Maytech have ensured that the DuGyte is built to last. The product has been designed with the gigging musician in mind, as touring can take its toll on gear.

In my opinion, the DuGyte will be most handy if you’re making use of your effects send and return jacks and/or MIDI in addition to the input jack at the front of the amp. Even better if you’re using your amps footswitch in conjunction with your FX loop and front input jack.

Dugyte-521
DuGyte GP521 ($469)
  • 5 meter cable;
  • Guitar/Amp input;
  • Footswitch in (mono/stereo);
  • MIDI;
  • 6x 9v outputs.

Dugyte-721
DuGyte GP721 ($589)
  • 6 meter cable;
  • Guitar/Amp input;
  • Footswitch in (mono/stereo);
  • MIDI;
  • 4x 9v outputs;
  • 2x selectable 12v or 18v outputs;
  • Effects loop send/return.

As you can see, based on the 2 models above, you will need to spend a bit more money in order to get the effects loop option. Unless you’re using a footswitch in conjunction with MIDI, I don’t really see much relevance in the GP521 model. The GP721 is priced at $589 which is way more than I would ever spend on such a unit, so I probably won’t be trying one of these any time soon. At that price I don’t mind spending a few extra minutes plugging in cables, however I can see this being handy for a number of professional touring musicians especially when considering that operation is noise free.

In addition to the products offered by Maytech Music, they also offer a custom shop. Clients are able to place orders for custom built systems tailored to their individual needs. This could either be a single option added to one of their existing products or they could design a completely new and customized product for you.
