Frank Gambale’s rig is the perfect example of the fact that you don’t need a lot of gear to sound great. He’s one of the first jazz virtuoso’s to make the leap to a completely digital amplification setup. He also, unconventionally, runs his only pedal (a volume control) through the loop section of his amp, in order to have complete control over his volume without affecting the gain.
