Gary Moore’s Gear and Equipment

Although it may appear that Gary Moore used a lot of gear, looks can be deceiving. Some fans argue that his tone is a result of “his fingers” and his ability to inject emotion into each note he played. The core of Gary’s tone was usually powered by a classic tube-based Marshal, which he controlled mostly via his volume control on his guitar. In addition to that, he applied a touch of delay and reverb. Although Gary claimed to own over 100 amplifiers, the gear that’s listed below is what he used live shortly before his passing in 2011. Below I’ve included an audio clip of one of Gary’s last performances, which illustrates how great his gear sounded.
