My New String Replacement Kit

Ernie Ball 12 Pack (x2) – I hate running out of strings, which is why I like to buy a lot in one go. Twenty-four packs of strings in total keeps me going for a while without the worry of running out.

Gorgomyte Fretboard Cleaning & Conditioning – My favorite product for cleaning a guitar neck. I clean my neck before each string replacement, and Gorgomyte makes the process a lot easier. The new Gorgomyte formula contains coconut oil, which leaves your fretboard with a pleasant vanilla / coconut aroma.

Ernie Ball Instrument Polish – I use this for the body of my guitar, and I don’t apply any on the fretboard. It keeps your instrument in the best possible condition and has a great fragrance.

Big Bends Nut Sauce – Depending on my mood, I like to apply Nut Sauce to my bridge, saddles and all other moving parts. After each string change I normally apply a very small amount to (at the very least) the nut and saddles. This is the same product Joe Satriani uses to get great action on his whammy.

AmazonBasics Washcloths (24 Pack) – Cotton washcloths are used in conjunction with Gorgomyte in order to completely remove all residue. I prefer washcloths because of their ability to absorb moisture easily.

T-Shirt Material (100% Cotton) – I use this for the body of my instrument. It’s important to use 100% cotton in order to prevent scratching. I prefer T-shirt material for the body because of the smoother texture.

Notched Straight Edge Tool – I use this tool to ensure that my neck is straight after a string change. Some people can gauge it just by looking down the neck, however I prefer the help of a tool.

String Action Ruler – This is used if you’re performing action (or other) adjustments on your instrument. It helps to have a measurement tool so that you know exactly where you’re at.

Crade Cube Neck Support – Providing neck support for your instrument during the string replacement process makes everything a lot easier.

Dr Bronner’s Liquid Soap – I use this to get my guitar cases clean. It cleans and conditions at the same time, so it leaves your case looking new and fresh.
